About the event
As the UK's Space Sector grows, so does its appetite for highly skilled workers. Recent studies like the UK Space Skills Survey have shown that significant skills-related challenges adding difficulties to recruitment and retention, with skills gaps holding back innovation and reducing productivity.
Space Park Leicester and others, with the support of the UK Space Agency, are working to leverage our own experience in Spacecraft Engineering and Operations to develop programmes facilitating knowledge sharing, retraining and upskilling of the Space Industry Workforce. Together we'll explore how we create a sustainable pipeline of support to ensure a well skilled workforce enabling the growth of the UK Space Industry.
Factors explored: Skill gap findings from UK Space Skills Survey, Training Programmes (Highlight Fundamentals, and other UKSA funded programmes). Discuss long term intervention, starting with outreach to young people.
