About the event
Dr. Lauren Napier is a Lecturer in Law at the Northumbria University Law School. Her background includes communications, international relations, and a PhD on the governance framework of Low Earth Orbit with special consideration of satellite constellations. Her focus is on the national and international governance of space, cyber, AI, and telecommunications. Lauren teaches and researches on governance issues across these tech sectors with emphasis on safety, security, and sustainability as well as risk management approaches. Lauren has been in the space sector for over a decade and has previously represented an INGO at the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space as well as given recommendations to local space industry stakeholders regarding active debris removal and cybersecurity and AI concerns as well as to Ofcom regarding space spectrum management.
